Kazuma and his party are down on their luck: Megumin's use of explosion magic backfires and they lose all the bounty from their latest quest. The group sits in shame at the adventurer's guild, until things take a turn when Yunyun arrives and tells Kazuma and the others that she needs to have his babies in order to save the world while also saying that her village is under attack by a general of the devil king. Later, at Kazuma's Mansion, most of this is found out to be false, and is revealed to be a story written by Megumin and YunYun's classmate, Arue. Yunyun leaves, embarrassed, and heads back to the village.

The next day, Megumin starts remembering things she and Yunyun did together. Kazuma also talks to Vanir at this point to try and negotiate their deal for his intellectual property rights.

They are teleported outside of the village where Kazuma is chased almost to the point of his capture by a group of female orcs. Just as things are looking bad for Kazuma, though, Yunyun shows up and the orcs flee. After this Kazuma and the group are taken to Megumin's house, where they are greeted by her sister, Komekko.

Megumin falls asleep immediately after the group gets there, leaving Kazuma to have an awkward conversation with her parents (Hyoizaburoo and Yuiyui) about the nature of his and Megumin's relationship. When Kazuma lets slip that he is rich and owns a mansion, the parents immediately both warm up to him, now seeing him as suitable husband material for their daughter. That evening, against the will of Darkness, Yuiyui locks Kazuma in the same room as a sleeping Megumin in hopes of forcing them to become a couple. Megumin wakes up and sees Kazuma very close to her face, and after fully waking up, realizes that she and Kazuma are sleeping together. She leaves from the window after a bit of conversation with Kazuma, and he is called Kazu-trash and Crap-zuma by the girls the next morning.

Megumin leads them on a tour of the Crimson village, visiting points of interest, various shops, and even Megumin's school (where they meet some of her prior classmates). They also visit a building that is said to hold something that will end the world, which is supposedly very safe according to Megumin. As they are going back to Megumin's house, they notice Darkness being accosted by monsters being led by Sylvia, a general in King's army. They manage to get her to retreat after Kazuma introduces himself as Mitsurugi the swordsman and tells of his mighty exploits in defeating other King generals such as Vanir, Hans and the Dullahan.

That night, Megumin and Kazuma again sleep together due to her mother. Kazuma, seizing the opportunity, freezes the window shut. After talking with Megumin for a while and having her thank him, she sees the frozen window and takes back all the thanks she gave him. However, after begrudgingly, she goes back into the futon with Kazuma. Where to Kazuma’s surprise, they started having moment, an alarm for infiltrators in the village is sounded and they run out, looking for enemies.

Kazuma, Megumin, Aqua, and Darkness almost immediately find Sylvia. She takes him to the building with the thing that will end the world, and Kazuma accidentally reveals that he knows how to unlock it before doing so after being prompted to by Sylvia. She starts to walk down before being pushed by Kazuma and locked inside. Kazuma is then found by the rest of the group and they walk out.

Immediately after this, the building is destroyed as Sylvia has turned into the Mage Killer. She disables almost everyone's magic abilities and starts to destroy the village. It is then revealed that there are relics that contain a way to stop the Mage Killer, so they go there. The relics are written in Japanese so Kazuma is able to read them and realize that the rifle from one of the shops in town is actually the weapon they need to kill the Mage Killer.

They find the rifle while Yunyun distracts Sylvia. Aqua charges it with her magic, but when Kazuma attempts to fire it, nothing happens. When Megumin sets off an explosion aimed at Sylvia, the power is sent into the rifle, which succeeds in loading it to maximum. Komekko fires the rifle, causing Sylvia to be wounded to the brink of death, but as she passes into the afterlife she come across Beldia and Hans and fuses with them, and the three of them revive together as one fused General. Wiz and Vanir show up to find someone in the village who can help make one of Kazuma's items but end up joining the fight. Wiz gets everyone in the village to transfer their magic to Yunyun and Megumin as Kazuma is being taken in by Sylvia as a lover and attached to her chest. Yunyun and Megumin fire a gigantic light of saber and explosion combination right into Kazuma and Sylvia, killing them both. However, due to Kazuma's stats boosted by Aqua, he is able to be brought back to life, after which they go home.

The last scene shows the main four characters out on a picnic, with Kazuma and Megumin looking out over a rolling hill. Megumin says she wants to learn advanced magic and no longer be restricted to explosions. Still reluctant to put points into a skill other than Explosion Magic, she asks Kazuma to upgrade her stat card for her, which he seemingly does. He then asks her to fire an explosion just for kicks. She does so and is surprised to find it much stronger than her usual explosion. She realizes that Kazuma disregarded her request and put her remaining points into Explosion Magic after all. The smoke of the explosion forms the shape of a heart, and they walk back to the picnic blanket together as the movie ends. (Source)
