Spike Chunsoft's Conception game will have adaptation in anime

Since Spike Chunsoft have announced that their game Conception: Pray no Kodomo wo Undekure! will receive an animated television adaptation that will premiere in October.

Keita Motonaga (Jormungand, Date A Live, Digimon Adventure tri.) Will direct the series under the animation studio GONZO. Yuuko Kakihara (Chihayafuru, Sora no Otoshimono, Digimon Adventure tri.) Will be in charge of the scripts, while Yousuke Okuda (Gochuumon Usagi desu ka ?, Blend S) will be responsible for adapting the original designs of Shinichirou Otsuka (Re: Zero) and Masato Koda (Konosuba, Knights & Magic) who compose the music. Koda has already composed the music for the original game.

The story of the game is played by Itsuki Yuge, a high school student who discovers on the day of her graduation that her cousin and childhood friend Mahiru is pregnant. After that, Itsuki and Mahiru are transported to a magical world called Granvania that is under the attack of some monsters. The only ones who can place against the monsters are the "children of the stars", and these can only be born of the "twelve priestesses of the constellations". To defeat the monsters and return to their world, Itsuki must engender the children of the stars with the priestesses.

The original game was released on the Japanese PSP in April 2012, with a sequel to PSVita with Conception II: Shichisei no Michibiki to Mazuru no Akumu who arrived at the 3DS and PSVita from Japan in August 2013. This sequel reached the West the consoles in April 2014 as Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars, while in August of 2016 came a PC version via Steam.
