Gintama 2: live-action Film Brings Back Tsuyoshi Muro as Gengai Hiraga

The official Twitter account of the second real-image film that will adapt the manga Gintama of Hideaki Sorachi has revealed that Tsuyoshi Muro will return from the first installment to give life to Gengai Hiraga. The account will reveal a new cast member daily between May 22 and May 26.

Previously it had been confirmed that Shun Oguri, Masaki Suda and Kanna Hashimoto will return from the first film to resume their respective roles as Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura and KaguraIt has also been previously confirmed that, Masami Nagasawa will return as Tae Shimura, while Masaki Okada will be Kotaro Katsura again. Elizabeth also returns as a character, but it is not confirmed whether Takayuki Yamada is going to give her life.

Jiro Sato (seen in picture below) is also returning, but in a different role. Sato previously played the character Takechi Henpeita in the first film.

Gintama 2 will premiere on August 17 in Japanese cinemas and aims to surpass the figures of the first installment, released in July 2017 in Japan and managed to raise 980 million yen (US$8.9 million) in just four days.
