Toei Animation will create a section dedicated entirely to Dragon Ball and its projects

From Toei Animation have announced the presentation of a series of restructuring in their departments that will be effective on April 1, including the creation of a third department in its headquarters of planning and production of anime that will focus on projects related to Dragon Ball . Atsushi Suzuki, producer of Digimon Adventure tri., Will be the leader of this new department without renouncing his current titles of executive head and business development.

The two remaining divisions will also go through restructuring. Thus the Department of Television Planning, focused on anime for television, will be renamed Department 1 of the Planning Division, although it will maintain its current functions. In this department will be the Office of Video Planning 1, the Office of Video Planning for Foreigners and the Office of Video Planning Management. Takashi Washio (Mahou Girls Precure !, Tiger Mask W) will be the department leader as up to date.

The Video Planning Department, focused to date on the CG anime, will be renamed Department 2 of the Planning Division and will also retain its current focus. Under this department will be the Office of Video Planning 2 and the Office of Media Planning. Kouichi Noguchi (KADO producer) will continue to be the department leader.

Finally, the Production Management Department and the General Affairs Office of Oizumi Studio will be merged and will be called the Study Management Department. The Department of General Affairs and the Department of Human Resources will also merge into a General Human Resources Affairs Department.

Shueisha, the editor of the Dragon Ball manga by Akira Toriyama, already created in June 2016 a division dedicated entirely to managing the Dragon Ball franchise.
