The Dragon Ball's 20th anniversary film will debut on December 14 in Japan

The official website of the film of the 20th anniversary of Dragon Ball has announced that its provisional title will be Dragon Ball Super and that its premiere is scheduled for December 14 in Japanese cinemas. In the promotional image shown we can read: "The super cinematographic version begins".

The author of the original Dragon Ball manga, Akira Toriyama, will be responsible for writing the script and designing the characters. Tatsuya Nagamine (One Piece Film Z) will be the director, while Naohiro Shintani will be the chief animation director. The artistic direction will be in the hands of Kazuo Ogura.

How could it be otherwise, Masako Nozawa will return as the voice of Goku.

Dragon Ball Super

Dragon Ball Super is a Japanese anime television series produced by Toei Animation that began airing on July 5, 2015. Its overall plot outline is written by Dragon Ball franchise creator Akira Toriyama, while the individual episodes are written by different screenwriters. It is also a manga series illustrated by Toyotarou, serialized in Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine V Jump. The anime is a sequel to Toriyama's original Dragon Ball manga and the Dragon Ball Kai television series featuring the first new storyline in 18 years. It is broadcast on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. on Fuji TV and in the West, being available through Crunchyroll.
