Karen and Hikari make the promise by being young that someday they will be together on that stage. Time passes and the girls are 16 years old, but Karen has not forgotten her dream and takes lessons every day and she clings fondly to the promise she made with her friend years ago. Hikari, on the other hand, had to change schools and now she has not seen Karen for a long time. The destination, however, provides a reunion and they will compete with other "Stage Girls" in a mysterious audition process to get a place in the famous group.

The franchise premiered its first musical in September of last year with the same cast of voices that will feature the anime.
