ISLAND anime will premiere on July 1



The animated television adaptation of the visual novel ISLAND of developer Frontwing and Prototype has revealed via its official website that the series will premiere on July 1 at 22:00 in Tokyo MX, later broadcasting on Sun TV, AT-X and BS -Fuji. It can also be viewed online via Netflix, Bandai Channel, au Video Pass, J: COM on Demand, milplus, Hulu, AbemaTV and d Anime Store.

Keiichiro Kawaguchi (Frame Arms Girls) will be the director of the series under the feel animation studio, being Naruhisa Arakawa (Outbreak Company, Kingdom) who is in charge of the scripts. Kosuke Kawamura (Frame Arms Girl, OniAi) will design the characters, while Akiyuki Tateyama (Yurucamp, Shimoneta) will compose the music, which will produce MAGES.

The opening will be "Lasting Memories" by Yukari Tamura, while the ending will be performed by Asaka.


Urashima, an island far from the mainland. The people who live there lead carefree lives. But five years ago, the island's three great families suffered a series of misfortunes and succumbed to suspicion. The people of the island cut off all contact with the mainland and began a slow decline. The key to saving the island lies in three girls who belong to the three families. But they are bound by old traditions, and are conflicted. On that island, a lone man washes ashore. The man claims to be from the future, and he begins a solitary struggle to change the island's fate.

Ryuichiro Yamakawa is the producer of the game, being Yosai Kuchu responsible for the illustrations and character designs. Goo writes the script.

The game was released in Japan in April 2016 for PC, with a version for PSVita coming in February 2017.
