The announced television adaptation of the manga The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku Neverland) by Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu has premiered twitter account and official website, from which we get a first video teaser that confirms that the series will premiere in January 2019.

Characters

  • Emma - Along with Ray and Norman, she is one of the oldest children in the house, being 11 years old. In spite of being a little naive, she is very brave, agile, affectionate and shows an immense love towards all her other orphaned brothers, regardless of age. It is quoted in the manga that, despite not being as smart as Norman and Ray, Emma has an extraordinary learning ability.
  • Norman - Has a very logical and rational personality, always loyal to his teammates. As it is shown in chapter 4 of the manga, Norman loves Emma, which causes him to do everything to make her happy.
  • Ray - Like Norman, Ray is logical and cautious, but he is an antisocial person who tends to isolate himself from his other brothers. Because he is very intelligent and patient, he contributes a great deal to the orphanage's escape plan, although he does not agree with Emma's demand to take the other orphans, because, according to him, this would only reduce his chances of success.
  • Isabella (known as "Mama") - is the caretaker of the children and administrator of Grace Field House. She is intelligent and extremely thorough, being almost always ahead of the children in her plans. Although serving the demons, Isabella is quite affectionate and loving with those who do not know their true function. From the moment Emma and Norman discover the truth about the house and its purpose, Mama becomes an antagonist in the series.

Synopsis
At Grace Field House, life couldn't be better for the orphans! Though they have no parents, together with the other kids and a kind "Mama" who cares for them, they form one big, happy family. No child is ever overlooked, especially since they are all adopted by the age of 12. Their daily lives involve rigorous tests, but afterwards, they are allowed to play outside.
There is only one rule they must obey: do not leave the orphanage. But one day, two top-scoring orphans, Emma and Norman, venture past the gate and unearth the horrifying reality behind their entire existence: they are all livestock, and their orphanage is a farm to cultivate food for a mysterious race of demons. With only a few months left to pull off an escape plan, the children must somehow change their predetermined fate.
Shirai and Demizu launched the manga on the pages of the Weekly Shonen Jump in August 2016 and its eighth volume compilation went on sale on April 4. The work currently has 4.2 million copies.
